Pathfinders
We encourage our 11-14s to join with the adults for the Sunday morning meeting at 10.30am. We hope that young teenagers can feel very much part of the family here at St John’s. After the meeting formally finishes, we have a pathfinder group that runs for about twenty minutes (finishing shortly after 12 noon). This is a time to make sure we’ve understood the Bible talk from the main meeting, to ask questions, to pray if that’s appropriate and to get to know each other better. We encourage all our pathfinders to come to “Aliens” (see below) on a Friday night as that group provides a brilliant opportunity to make good friends and find out more about Jesus.
Aliens
Aliens is our youth group for 11-14 year olds (those in School Years 7, 8 and 9). We meet at the church from 7.15-8.45 on Friday nights during term time. There are all sorts of games and activities but most importantly we aim to have a great time looking at the Bible together to learn more of Christ and what it means to follow him.
Autumn Term dates: 13th January to 23rd March 2012 (Half term break; not meeting 10th and 17th February).
Anchored
Anchored is our group for 14-18 year olds (those in School Years 10, 11, 12 and 13). We meet at St John’s at 6.15pm on Wednesdays during term-time for Bible study, discussion and games, finishing up at about 7.15. There is then a meal served for leaders and others at 7.30 so all the group are invited to stay for the meal and leave at 8.00 if they are not under any time pressure to head home! We welcome both those who have grown up knowing Jesus and newcomers who are just interested to find out what the Bible says about him. The first meeting this term will be on Wednesday 11th January. Come and join us or contact Edward Peck for more details!
